Back to blogging… about Obama?

After a 2-year hiatus, I’m back! I’ve moved from the disappointing Blogger to the exciting WordPress. Blogger didn’t want to export its posts to WordPress, so I’m starting on a clean slate. Unfortunately, WordPress makes it difficult to customize my blog’s layout, so I’m stuck with the basic default layout for now. I’ll tweak it slowly over time.

I’m also motivated to post in the wake of Barack Obama’s victory. It’s so amazing how far he has come in the past couple of years. The enormity of it all didn’t even hit me until it was announced he won the election. Seeing the reaction of people like Roland Martin on CNN, along with other African Americans, really moved me to tears, and still continues to do so! It’s insane! (It doesn’t help that I tear up very easily.) Obama’s speech the other night was beautiful as usual (YES WE CAN!), and the puppy part was extra cute.

Obama’s victory has really made me extra happier and proud to be living in the U.S. right now. I feel like I can finally breathe a sigh of relief now that the election is over. As a “foreigner” myself, I know that around the world, people are also breathing a sigh of relief, as Obama’s presidency symbolizes CHANGE for the U.S. More intelligent leadership and diplomacy, less waging of wars for no reason.
